One-tap checkout goes live for every MiSPay merchant
Returning shoppers can now confirm an instalment plan in a single tap. Early merchants saw checkout time fall by 41% and abandonment drop by nine points.
One-tap checkout is now available to every merchant on the MiSPay network, after nine months in a controlled rollout with 340 retailers.
For a returning shopper with a healthy repayment history, the entire flow is a single confirmation. No re-entered card details, no re-uploaded documents, no second one-time password. The plan, the due dates, and the total cost are shown on one screen, and the order is placed from that screen.
The problem it solves
Checkout abandonment is rarely about price. In MiSPay's own funnel analysis, the largest drop-off was never the plan selection step — it was the identity and card steps that followed it. Shoppers who had already been approved were being asked to prove themselves again on every order.
41% reduction in median time from basket to confirmation
9 point reduction in checkout abandonment for returning shoppers
23% of one-tap orders now happen on a second device
Zero increase in first-payment defaults across the pilot cohort

How it works
Trust that carries between orders
Eligibility is recalculated on every order, not cached. What is reused is the verified identity and payment instrument, not the credit decision. A shopper who becomes ineligible sees the standard flow again, with the reason stated plainly.
One screen, no surprises
The confirmation screen shows the instalment count, each due date, the amount per instalment, and the total. Nothing is disclosed after the tap that was not visible before it.
A single integration path
Merchants already on the current MiSPay checkout get one-tap without code changes. Merchants on a custom integration enable it with a single flag in the console.
"We expected a lift on mobile. What surprised us was tablet and in-store — the same customers, finishing orders they used to leave open for a day."
Availability and controls
Enabled by default for all hosted checkout merchants from 12 May
Available behind a console toggle for custom integrations
Shoppers can turn one-tap off permanently in the MiSPay app
A cooling-off window still applies to every order, regardless of flow

What comes next
The same confirmation surface will carry two further capabilities this year: a single-tap date change for one instalment per plan, and pre-approval that a shopper can see on a product page before reaching checkout. Both are in testing with a subset of merchants now.
